What is Brian Tracy's 1000% Formula for success in his own and in his clients lives? It's based on the Law of Incremental Improvement which is based on getting better, a little every day.

I recently watched a video by Brian Tracy called Increase Your Income 1000%. He says his formula is based on the Japanese Kaizen Formula or the Law of Incremental Improvement which is based on getting better, a little every day. This principle builds on the Momentum principle which says that once you start moving forward, it becomes easier to move forward.

Tracy shared how he created this formula after reflecting on his own success and comparing it with the success he’s seen in his clients. Here’s the 1000% formula:

• Get up 2 hours early

• Invest 1st hour (golden hour) reading something motivational/uplifting

• Make a list – plan you day

• Prioritize your list

• Start at the beginning and work your way through

• Listen to audio programs in your car – equivalent of getting a degree in your field

• After every call (he teaches sales) ask two questions: what did I do right? and what would I do differently next time?

• Treat everyone you meet like a Million Dollar Customer

What part of Tracy’s formula are you already following? Are these activities supporting your success? Would it be worth implementing the rest of the formula? Could it hurt?

Watch the video for yourself: http://motivatetube.com/video/6Pz03hNEVTE/Increasing-Your-Income-1000-Formula.html

Blessings!

Dr. Lisa

A mission statement is a statement from the core of the individual leader's heart on what they are inspired to do. Compare your statement to this list of required elements for a good mission statement -- see how yours measures up.

One of the things I love most about sharing the Passion Test for Business with companies and non-profit boards is helping them see how every individual in the company can align their personal passions with the company mission statement. This is easily done when the mission statement genuinely reflects the heart of the leadership. Below is a list of required elements for a good mission statement developed by John DeMartini. Compare this list with your own mission statement – or use it to craft yours TODAY!
• The mission statement needs to be refined and reviewed so everybody in the company is aligned to it.
• A mission statement is not meant to be an idealistic, intellectual statement designed to sound good in public. One of the most important things in building a business is a clear vision and certainty: the statement of purpose or mission of what you want to create. A mission statement is a statement from the core of the individual leader’s heart on what they are inspired to do.
• A good mission statement essentially demands the soul and spirit of the leader. In order to be a good leader you must have vision, inspiration and purpose which leads to vitality, intensity and power.
• The mission statement of a company is the inner most thoughts of the leader and it speaks to their core values.
• The inspiration of the company is directly proportionate to how vivid the vision and the statement is of what you would like to do.
• A leader must be appreciative of the opportunity they have to share the product service or idea of the company.
• A successful company is one where the following is reflected on the staff; gratitude, vision and enthusiasm. The staff must be grateful to be at work and plan for it every morning, there must be a vision they can articulate without outside help and they must be enthusiastic – this is seen in the vibe of the workplace.
• Most people think terrestrially and look out celestially; like you have the world in your hands and imagine going from a greater sphere and look inwards.
• The masses of people wait to see things before they believe; the master believes things before they see it.
• You cannot coerce people into working – you have to inspire them to work. An inspiring mission statement assists employees to know what they are working towards and aids productivity.

Need help crafting a mission statement that reflects your heart and vision for your company? Talk out loud to a trusted friend or colleague and record the key points that come up when you answer the question “What do I want my company to be known for? What impact do I want to have?” Be as audacious as you want in this conversation – you are just brainstorming. Then take what you recorded and begin to mine the gems that represent the heart of your company.

Do you like your mission statement? Post a link here – I’d love to see yours!!

The strength of your connection and influence determines the length of your REACH. Relationship marketing is one of the strongest trends ever to hit the business world. People prefer to do business with someone they know, like and trust. When you have REACH, you are that trusted business.

Every time you make a genuine connection with someone, you create REACH. It doesn’t matter if it is in your personal or professional life – you have established a relationship with some degree of influence. Imagine you are getting ready to launch a new product or service. You know you need help with this project, so you REACH out to a few of your key contacts and enlist their support. The strength of your connection and influence determines the length of your REACH.

Why REACH is so important should be obvious. Marketing has shifted in the last few years. Relationship marketing is one of the strongest trends ever to hit the business world, and it isn’t going away any time soon. People prefer to do business with someone they know, like and trust. When you have REACH, you are that trusted business. Your marketing messages get read and people believe your products are good because you say they are. REACH creates sales with loyal customers.

In other arenas, REACH is just as important. As a leader in your home, church, company or community, you need REACH. Author John Maxwell says that leadership is influence. According to Maxwell, “People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision.”

How do you create REACH? Consider the people who have REACH with you. What are the qualities that attract your loyalty? Integrity, authenticity, consistency, follow through, dependability are probably on your list. Take a look at what you deliver and honestly assess what traits might be limiting your REACH. What you put attention on will grow stronger. Focus on being that man or woman that has REACH.

What do Bono, Charlie Sharpe (founder of Ozark National Life and Heartland Dairies), and most of my clients have in common? They are all business owners who have used their success and influence to create positive change in the lives of other people. My husband Duke and I attended the U2 concert in Minneapolis a week ago. It was AWESOME!! Bono, the Edge, Adam and David all performed with passion in the pouring rain. The music was outstanding. The technology (you’d have to see the Claw in person to understand just how amazing it is) was incredible. But for me the concert was even more inspiring because of the example Bono and the members of U2 demonstrate of using their platform to create change. Bono is well known for his support of Amnesty International, Project One and the Red project. He personally meets the hungry, disenfranchised and politically oppressed and does what he can to improve their lives. During the concert 58,000 fans were privileged to view a Skype message from Aung San Suu Kyi, the woman elected president of Burma. She was just recently released from prison after two years of oppression. Her crime: being elected in a democratic election. She was so thankful to U2 and their fans for her freedom. It moved my heart and made me glad to be a part of something even bigger than a rock concert.

Charlie Sharpe is not a household name, but thousands of people owe much to the lifelong commitment to service and integrity of this man. Charlie is the president of my husband’s company, Ozark National Life. Charlie had a vision for offering what he calls the Balanced Program of insurance and investments, and when the company he worked for as a young man didn’t support his ideas, he went out on his own and started Ozark. Now people around the country are saving and investing and creating wealth. But Charlie’s influence only begins there. After he had created this highly successful company, Charlie had a vision of creating a place where people could come and get free of alcohol and other addictions. He built Heartland on farmland in northern Missouri where he grew up. The men in his program needed work, so he built Heartland Dairy. The dairy needed trucks and other businesses to support the dairy, so he built those. Later a lodge, restaurants, cleaners, beauty parlor and other small businesses were added. At the center of this growing city is the church, school, and now a small college. Visiting Heartland last June was awe-inspiring as I couldn’t stop thinking about the Domino Effect of one man on so many lives.

How are you creating a Domino Effect with your time and resources? As a successful business owner, executive or entrepreneur, you have much to be thankful for and so much more than so many others. I realized not too long ago that almost every one of my clients is creating a Domino Effect of their own – transformational leaders in their work, their community and the world.

Let me know what you are up to – I’ll be highlighting transformational leaders here in the coming months and on a new radio show I’ll be launching in the fall!

In my research on limiting and propelling beliefs, I found an interesting fact. There is a fairly high percentage of people who are experiencing a degree of success, but one limiting belief holds them back. It is as if their taste of success has created for them a roadblock to continued success. What is this limiting belief? It is that they believe they know the answers and don’t need any new input into their lives. They have formed opinions and have closed to ideas that don’t immediately match those opinions. They believe they are right and anyone who doesn’t agree is wrong.

The most successful people maintain an openness to new ideas, new ways of doing things, and new learning. They approach different ideas with humility and a willingness to listen before rejecting or coming to judgment.

This ability to remain open comes more easily to certain temperaments. Individuals who prefer the concrete over the abstract tend to struggle with openness, but they can learn to develop the skill of consideration before rejection of new ideas or methods. When faced with some new thought or practice, ask yourself how it compares to your experience. Ask yourself if opening to this idea could hurt you in any way. If it safe to proceed, move forward and gather more information, comparing the new experience with what you know is true. Opening your heart will help you discover new paths to success.

// (The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language)

When you look back at your childhood, do you experience happy memories or sadness? Do you focus more on the wounds of the past or the joys of experiences you had? The answers to these questions are very important to determining just how resilient you are. How strong are your beliefs that you can and will overcome obstacles and succeed? Research indicates that individuals with open wounds from the past tend to have more difficulty believing they can accomplish their goals. It is as if they are chained to the past, held back by powerful emotional cords. These cords consist of lies attached to the events of the past. Your own past and the stories you inherited from your family. These lies are misperceptions and misunderstandings and outright falsehoods about what really happened, your personal value, your ability to succeed, what others think, and what you believe about yourself.

Resilience, as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary, is the ability to recover and even return to the original shape. You can overcome the wounds of the past and “bounce back”. And rather than returning to your original state, I believe you will become stronger, clearer and possess a message that will likely become part of your purpose and passion. It will take some work. It will mean going back and remembering the painful events of the past, but this time armed with tools that clean and cauterize the wound so you can heal. Once you have completed the work of healing the past, you will be ready and able to move forward into the future. You will experience freedom from shame and grief and find a lightness that enables you to soar over obstacles in your path. Limiting beliefs about who you are and what you can do will no longer hold you.

Are your beliefs supporing or sabotaging your success? I am in the middle of researching a writing a book by the title The Belief Quotient. The premise is that your beliefs are the lens through which everything in your life is filtered. Knowing how these beliefs were formed and transforming them can transform your life.

There are basic beliefs everyone holds regarding their childhood and upbringing, their personality, their abilities, their experiences, and life beyond. We are aware of many of these beliefs, but often it is the unconscious beliefs we hold that undermine our ability to grow and achieve the results we desire. We sabotage ourselves with false beliefs based on misunderstandings and misperceptions. You have probably heard about the Law of Attraction and have thoughts and beliefs about it. There is one principle relating to the Law of Attraction that is dependent upon belief: “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” You become what you focus on and perpetuate what you believe. Your core beliefs define your limits and boundaries and create the foundation on which you build your life. We compensate for negative beliefs and create systems for coping and surviving. Your beliefs are all that stand between you and authentically enjoying who you are and the purpose for which you were designed.

Take a look at your beliefs. Listen in on the conversations you have with yourself about who you are and what you do. Challenge the critical messages that come out of your mouth and the defensive posture you take when you feel threatened. Trace these beliefs to roots in your childhood or choices made in your family heritage. Examine them in the light of day and test them to see if they are serving you. Be open to new messages that you are creative, resourceful and whole… that you were designed to live with purpose and passion… that every resource is available to you to live a life of abundance and joy.

It was my first time visiting a group of women business owners and I was sitting back and taking in the conversation. I play a game with myself when meeting new people where I try to discern personality types, strengths and what I call Kryptonite – the challenges each person faces such as perfectionism, insecurity, or distractibility. As I identified natural leaders, strong communicators, and gentle souls, I came back to myself and wondered what these ladies might be thinking about me and my strengths and weaknesses. Someone asked a question, another made a comment and then I chimed in. Immediately I noticed the ladies leaning forward, watching my face, taking in what I had to offer on the subject. They were engaged, interested, and trusting my expertise. I had influence. Influence is one of my superpowers and frankly it sometimes catches me by surprise. Why would a group of people go from zero to trust so quickly? It’s not because of anything I do consciously. It isn’t even really because of my training or experience, although they help. It is due to a natural, God-given strength I have for communicating with authority and for creating trust quickly. This strength is a gift and a responsibility. I am empowered with it for a purpose and must use it for good or answer to the One who gave it to me.

What are your Superpowers? Do you know what they are and how they influence the world around you? Watch yourself in a group of new acquaintances sometime. Getting outside of yourself to monitor your behavior and its impact on strangers is a powerful way to discover Superpowers and Kryptonite. Embrace your Superpowers and put them to work on your road to Success!

Bartering is a great way to get something you want even when cash is tight. Early in my career as a coach, I exchanged professional coaching services for a number of services. They were all things I would have purchased anyway, but cash was tight and I had something of value to offer these business owners. That is my over-riding policy when it comes to bartering or professional trade: Would I purchase these products/services anyway?

You want to think carefully through your policies for bartering. Here is what I recommend for those engaging in a professional trade:
1. First, make sure you communicate clearly that you intend to trade services. Be specific what services/products are being exchanged and open about the value offered on both sides. Agree upon what is fair and equitable. For example, Sue and Betty will exchange housecleaning services for skin care products and agree that 3 hours of housecleaning is worth a certain dollars worth of product.
2. Be sure to make the agreement time specific. Example: Mike will do a brake job on Pam’s car; Pam will provide 4 hours of graphic design work on Mike’s website .
3. Create checkpoints along the way to evaluate whether the trade is offering value on both sides. Either party should be able to end the arrangement at specific points during the agreement.
4. Check with your accountant to see whether your arrangement needs to be reported to the IRS.
5. Both parties need to treat one another with quality customer service, just as if the transaction was for cash instead of barter.

There is a potential problem with bartering for services or products. It is possible that your services will be seen as less valuable somehow when money is not exchanged. The act of paying for something often seems to create a greater sense of value. Make sure that your products/services are valued by asking for feedback frequently.
